Founder and President

Our Founder Kris Hughes is a certified professional planner and executive development coach. He has more than 35 years of experience providing policy and planning services related to transportation, community, urban, rural, environmental, and land management planning. His expertise includes departmental management, government relations advocacy, community engagement and the drafting of laws at the State and local levels of government. He has served on State policy commissions affecting local government efficiency, rural and urban policy, telecommunications, Smart Growth, community development, affordable housing, forest conservation, wetlands, solid waste, building standards and education. In addition to general government administration and management, he has expertise and experience in public finance and budgeting, transportation policy and planning, solid waste management, land use and development, historic preservation, economic development, public-private partnerships, and provision of public facilities and services.

He is trained in organizational development to enable groups of decision makers resolve complex issues. He has managed public participation processes using a variety of approaches and techniques, including public workshops, citizen advisory committees, public hearings, public opinion surveys, press briefings, facilitated group retreats, and one-on-one meetings. He has managed and provided staff support to numerous policy-making boards, committees, and commissions.

Since 1986, Kris has provided direct executive staff development to individuals and organizations for improving strategies to establish and achieve organizational missions, career advancement and personal job satisfaction. He is a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic-Programming (NLP) and is currently a student in Strategic Intervention with Robbins-Madanes Training. Clients have included governmental organizations, non-profits, medical doctors, senior human resource executives, IT Professionals, public safety management, and new business start ups.
